Done with the DaF.
Dave spent 8 hours yesterday at the language institute, taking the Test-DaF, which is the German compentency exam that is a prerequisite for matriculating into German universities (it's like the German equivalent of the TOEFL). The test consisted of four sections, which were listening, reading, writing, and oral. The worst part was that they could only administer the oral section to 8 students at a time, in alphabetical order, so our poor "Suss" had to wait until almost the end of the day to finish the exam. Needless to say, by the time he got home, he was pretty worn out and capable only of going out to celebrate the end of his classes.

Here's a shot of Dave riding the U-Bahn on our way out to have a good time (note the two-week-old 'playoff whiskers' that he shaved off this morning).
We headed up to Prenzlauer Berg, a part of the old East Berlin that is now very trendy for younger people to live. We met our friends Jennifer and Doug (another Buka couple, here from Seattle) at Trattoria Paparazzi and had some delicious pasta and a good bottle of wine. Doug had taken the Test-DaF with Dave too, and was also ready to blow off a little steam.
