Wir haben (endlich) das Internet zu Hause!
(We (finally) have the internet at home!)

After 10 weeks in Bonn and 6 more in Berlin, we finally, for the first time in Germany, have the internet at our own home. And, like junkies denied their drug of choice for months on end, Dave and I have spent the last 48 hours totally engrossed in all the wonders of the internet that we've been missing (you know, important stuff, like reading our friends' blogs, downloading episodes of 'South Park," and playing around on Google Earth).

The great news for all our friends back in the US, though, is that now we're going to be in much more contact with you (since we also have a home phone line now). We can also make more regular posts to the blog as well about the less-earthshattering events of our life (like the head-size jar of Nutella that we cracked open for dessert tonight).

More soon...Erin & Dave

Liebes Daverin,

die Kinder sagen "süsses oder saueres!"

the childeren are saying "get us something sweet or you get something sour!"

At x-mas children also walk from door to door dressed like the three kings and mary. They usually sing for your sweeties a song or entertain you with some poetry.
I like that much better than that one sentence.

Dave & Erin,

Your blog is so entertaining! I just caught up on the last 4 entries, and I love your humorous writing style. Your apartment looks great -- all the best to you in your new digs!

Love, aunt deb
