Give me back my country!

This from Dave:

More stories to come when we take a break from writing papers/book.

The atmosphere was amazing -- combined elements of a party with a sense of reverence for the historic moment at hand!!

Highlights included:
- Al Gore with a great speech and humor more befitting to his experience
- Stevie Wonder singing "signed. sealed, delivered"
- Joe Biden's surprise appearance (what a speech from Wednesday!!!...love him)
- and (of course) and amazing delivery by Barack. If people don't vote for him now, they had better be in a coma.

Everyone on the crowd had American flags and waved them vigorously — it might be the first time in the last 9 years that I held one in my hand without feeling embarrassed.

The delegates, who were seated on the on the floor of the stadium, were crazy----like 10-year-olds that had all eaten 10 giant-sized Pixie Stix and chased them with a couple Red Bulls....."yes we can! yes we can! yes we can!"

Just before Barack's speech we got "Change" signs to hold up as well....

The whole thing was a little like going to a gospel service...
Speaker: "We need to take back our country!"
Crowd: "Amen!"

Speaker: "We need to show the world that we believe in the power of humanity—"
Crowd: "YES!"

Here's the video we took as Obama came out and greeted the crowd:
